Javier Jaén (Barcelona, 1983) studied graphic design and fine arts in Barcelona, New York, and Budapest. His professional work has focused on editorial illustration, book covers, audiovisual projects, advertising, cultural communication, and the creation of personal artwork. He translates stories and concepts into images through a symbolic and playful visual language.

He has worked for The New York Times, The New Yorker, Time, The Washington Post, Harvard University, National Geographic, Greenpeace, Penguin Random House, Vueling, UNESCO, Camper, Banco Sabadell, Louis Vuitton, Netflix, Warner, Centro Botín, Centro Dramático Nacional, Zara, Microsoft, and El Deseo, among others.

His work has been recognized by the Society of Illustrators (Illustrators 55, 56, 60), American Illustration (AI33, AI34, AI38, AI39), *Print Magazine* (New Visual Artist 2013), Premio Junceda (2013), Premio Gràffica (2010), Laus Awards (Grand Laus 2016, Gold 2017, Silver 2018), the D&AD Pencil (2017), The Society of Publication Designers (Gold 2018), Premios Feroz (2022), and the Society for News Design (2022). He has taken part in exhibitions in New York, London, Mexico, El Salvador, Tallinn, Seoul, Rotterdam, Paris, and Rome. Since 2015 he has been a member of AGI (Alliance Graphique Internationale). In 2020, Forbes named him one of the 100 most creative Spaniards.
