Mia Cassany, Mosquito Books

I am an editor, author, and creative director fascinated by the way stories take shape. For years, I have built Mosquito Books, a small publishing house that believes absolutely anything can be translated into the language of a book. My work moves between creativity, strategy, and storytelling, and I always seek to be present in every stage of the editorial process, from the initial concept to the final print.

Mosquito Books is an independent publishing house based in Barcelona. We specialize in creating non-fiction books (but not exclusively). We take care of the editorial process from start to finish, and our titles combine rigorous research with a strong visual narrative. Our catalog grows slowly and intentionally: each title is designed to showcase talent, stimulate reflection, and turn learning into a shared experience between children and adults.

“In class, I try to create the same atmosphere we look for in our books: clarity, curiosity, art and space to think. For me, creating stories and guiding creative projects comes from the same place. I believe that speaking openly and transparently about our own experiences—what works, what confuses us, what moves us— is not only valuable but essential for students. Bridging the classroom and the professional world is indispensable.”
