Aitor Saraiba
Textile artist and illustrator, teaches symbolism
For more than two decades, Aitor Saraiba has traced a unique path between drawing, textile art, and ceramics. His work has been exhibited around the world, from Los Angeles to Tokyo. His textile creations are a dialogue between tradition and emotion: he rescues ancestral techniques and reinterprets them through his intimate universe, working with wool from his own sheep and natural dyes.
Author of books such as “El hijo del Legionario” and “Borda, zurce y cose”, he received the ICON Artisan of the Year Award (El País, 2022) and the Regional Merit of Castilla-La Mancha. His art, inspired by childhood and memory, is an act of creation and care.
“My work is born from emotion and memory. I combine artisanal techniques with a contemporary perspective, transforming the everyday into poetry. Every stitch, drawing, or ceramic piece is an act of care, a way to honor tradition and celebrate the beauty of handmade work.”
